Week 1 of 4

Define & Position

Objective: Create clarity and something real to test immediately. By the end of week 1, there is a live validation surface — not a plan, not a deck, not a roadmap.
You Will Produce
  • 1-sentence problem statement
  • Defined ICP with documented characteristics
  • 10 documented pain points from research
  • Competitor overview — what exists, what's missing
  • Simple landing page (live, not a mockup)
  • Blank checkout or payment intent page
  • Map of online communities where your ICP gathers
Common Mistakes
  • Broad audience definition — "anyone who..." is not an ICP
  • Feature obsession — listing capabilities instead of solving problems
  • Building product instead of test — code is not required yet
  • Waiting too long to go live — live beats perfect every time
Outcome

Clarity + live validation surface. You now have a real page, a real checkout, and a real audience map. The test begins.

Week 2 of 4

Create, Refine & Test

Objective: Drive attention to the live test and refine based on real reactions. Week 2 is about generating signal — not traffic for its own sake, but targeted visibility that produces actionable data.
You Will Produce
  • Targeted content tailored to specific communities
  • Website refinements based on observed behavior
  • Improved value proposition — clearer, sharper
  • Traffic experiment data — sources, click-through, bounce
  • First wave of structured user interviews (5–10)
Common Mistakes
  • Posting generic content — community posts that feel like ads get ignored
  • Ignoring feedback — negative reactions are the most valuable data
  • Avoiding conversations — analytics don't replace talking to people
  • Over-designing instead of testing — ship faster, iterate on real data
Outcome

Engagement + qualitative signal. You have behavioral data from real traffic and direct insight from structured conversations.

Week 3 of 4

Deep Validation

Objective: Test seriousness and willingness to pay. Week 3 separates curiosity from commitment. We focus exclusively on buying behavior — the only signal that actually matters.
You Will Produce
  • Deep structured interviews (10–20 conversations)
  • Documented objection patterns — common resistance themes
  • Buying intent signals — who asked how to pay?
  • Pricing feedback — what range feels acceptable, what triggers hesitation
  • Waitlist or pre-order attempt — first real commitment test
Common Mistakes
  • Leading questions — "You'd pay for this, right?" is not validation
  • Talking more than listening — the founder's job is to shut up and record
  • Ignoring negative responses — "I wouldn't use this" is the most valuable answer
  • Mistaking politeness for interest — "That's cool!" means nothing
Outcome

Real demand clarity. You know whether people will pay, what they'll pay, and what's stopping them. No more guessing.

Week 4 of 4

Signal or Kill

Objective: Make an evidence-based decision. Week 4 is not a pivot week. It's a decision week. We evaluate everything, attempt the pre-sale, and produce the final report — no ambiguity.
You Will Produce
  • Demand summary — all signals, patterns, and data compiled
  • Conversion analysis — what worked, what didn't, what the numbers say
  • Pre-sale attempt — real payment request from real prospects
  • Refined positioning — sharper based on 4 weeks of real feedback
  • Go / No-Go report — documented, evidence-based, final
Common Mistakes
  • Emotional attachment — falling in love with the idea, not the evidence
  • Moving goalposts — "just one more week" delays a decision that's already there
  • Calling weak signals "traction" — 2 sign-ups is not traction
  • Skipping the pre-sale — asking for money is the only real test
Outcome

Confidence. You have a documented decision based on 28 days of evidence. Build with conviction or kill with clarity. Both are wins.

Build. Refine. Or shut it down.

At the end of 28 days, you have a documented outcome — not a feeling, not an opinion. Evidence.

Go

Strong demand signals. Willingness to pay confirmed. Pre-orders or waitlist traction. You build with evidence, not hope — and you know exactly who it's for and why they'll pay.

Refine

Demand exists but positioning needs work. Customer is right, problem is right, messaging is off. A sharper angle or slightly adjusted ICP could unlock the signal. You have enough to iterate intelligently.

Kill

No real demand signal. People are polite but won't commit. You saved 6 months and a significant amount of capital. This is a success. Move on with real data, not regret.
